You can get a good feel for our style of worship by looking at our Sunday bulletins
Each Sunday we prepare a bulletin that includes the “order of worship” for each of our Sunday services. The “order of worship” indicates which prayer book, either the traditional Book of Common Prayer or the more contemporary Book of Alternative Services, that we will be using at the service.
On occasion, we also might use a service from the prayer book of an Anglican Church from another country like England, New Zealand, or the United States. The bulletin also indicates which of the various forms of worship in the particular prayer book we are using. For example, the Book of Alternative Services provides six different contemporary forms of our worship service.
The bulletin also indicates which hymnal we are using for that particular service, as well as the names of the individuals who will be serving in leadership and assisting roles at the service. The “order of worship” itself is a form of program or agenda for the service, listing all the prayers, hymns, and scripture readings that will be included in the service.
Inserted in the Sunday bulletin is our “New & Views” that includes notices and announcements of upcoming events and other important information for and about our church community. |
