CRAFTS & CHATS ~ Tuesday Mornings - 9:30 am


Our Crafs & Chats group has resumed on Tuesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. This group reveals God’s beauty in the world through quilting and sketching. Anyone with skill or interest in these sewing arts is encouraged to attend.

 

QUILT RAFFLE ~ Feb. 14 2012
The Crafts and Chats ladies will have quilt raffle tickets for sale in the music room following the 10:00 a.m.
service every Sunday until the draw on February 14, 2012. Tickets are $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00. Proceeds from raffle will be donated to Outreach.

WEDNESDAY EVENING BIBLE STUDY ~ “Mysticism, Empowerment & Resistance” - 7:15 pm

Our Wednesday evening Bible study continues this week with one of the lectures from the 2006 event entitled “Mysticism, Empowerment & Resistance,” which features Marcu Borg, John Dominic Crossan, and Joan Chittester. We will have another video from the same event next week and then a special pre-Lenten motion picture on February 15. Each session begins at 7:15 p.m. and concludes by 9 p.m. On the Wednesday following Ash Wednesday, we will begin a new Scripturally-based series on prayer, which will continue through the week before Holy Week.

Holy Nativity's Annual General Meeting - Sunday, February 5

 

On Sunday, February 5, following the 10 a.m. service, we will conduct our annual meeting of parishioners (the meeting formerly known as the AGM). The chairpersons and leaders of the various parish ministries, organizations, and activities are reminded that they must prepare an annual report for the meeting.

Sunday Bruch Forum ~ Stategic Plan - Sunday, March 18

 

On Sunday, March 18, our Sunday Brunch Forum will take the next big step in taking our Strategic Plan from
paper to pavement. We will focus on how we are going to get where we want to go as a community of the
faithful – including plans for renovation of our church physical plant. Plan to be here.

 

Regular Weekly Events

 

Sundays

On the first and third Sundays we use the more traditional (1962) Eucharistic prayer from the Book of Alternative Services.
On the second and fourth Sundays we use one of the more contemporary Eucharistic prayers from the Book of Alternative Services ~ Except during the summer, the 10:00 am service is a sung or choral Eucharist on the first and third Sundays. Children are welcome at all our services. During the school year, they also may attend our Sunday School or nursery.

TWO DIOCESAN SYNOD CONVENTIONS SCHEDULED - April & June 2012


The Anglican Diocese of Calgary, has scheduled two synod meetings for 2012.

A Regular Convention of Synod will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The purpose of the convention is to appoint the new Diocesan Council and elect delegates to Provincial and General Synods and to conduct any other business that may arise.

A Special Convention of Synod (Electoral) will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012 to elect the Ninth Bishop of the Diocese of Calgary.

For more info: http://www.calgary.anglican.ca. Anyone wishing to be nominated as a synod delegate should be prepared to attend both synods. At the annual general meeting we will elect three synod delegates, one of which must be a member of the Parish Council.
